City tour and sightseeing in Addis Ababa (the “New Flower”)

Half day city tour in Addis Ababa, which includes the National Museum, Ethnological Museum and Mercato, the largest open market in East Africa.

In the National Museum you can see one of the most precious archaeological finds, the partial skeleton of an Australopithecus afarensis , discovered in 1974 at Hardar in the Awash Valley of Ethiopia's Afar Depression. According to estimations based on the argon-argon radiometric dating method to the volcanic ash surrounding it, the fossil's age is estimated to be about 3.2 million years.

The archeologists who found the skeleton nicknamed it as "Lucy", because the Beatles' song "Lucy in the sky with Diamonds" was being played repeatedly on a tape recorder in their camp during the days of the discovery.
