Our staff is not too large, that means we do not have to charge high fees to finance a big office with plenty of employees. Our concept is being part of a network of experienced tour operators, all of them specialised in their local environment. Our main focus is Lalibela and the Semien Mountains, but we organise a lot of tours to other destinations listed in our "Tours" menue.
Destaw Arage, manager, founder and owner of Desta Lalibela Tours, was born in Lalibela and studied tourism in Addis Ababa. He has long standing experience as guide and tour operator for different companies.
Esayas Mersha, co-founder of Desta Lalibela Tours, was born in Lalibela and studied tourism in Addis Ababa. He is responsible for the backoffice of Desta Lalibela Tours.
We understand very well our clients’ interests and work hand in hand with clients to organize trips according to their specific requirements. Energetic, experienced and with a good sense of humor, we speak and write fluently English.
We cooperate with many guides all over the country, all multi-lingual trained professionals. According to language preference of the clients, we assign guides who speak English, Italian, German, French, Russian and Spanish. In addition, we use local guides at all historic sites and have responsible agents at all attractions that care for our clients on our behalf.
Vehicles and Drivers
Our Vehicles are comprehensively insured, conditioned with air conditioning, equipped with refrigerator, and we use different cars for different sites:
- for Addis City tour, the Historic North and Harrar we offer high bus, coaster bus, and mini-vans, selected according to the interest and number of clients
- for Omo Valley, Danakil Depression and other remote areas we offer 4WD Toyota Land Cruiser or Nissan [4x4]
Our Drivers are geared with travel etiquette, know places very well, drive safely, and fairly speak English
